Kunoichi Tsubaki is an indie RPG where you play a stealthy female ninja in feudal Japan. By day you gather clues and interact with townsfolk while hiding your true identity. At night you infiltrate enemy castles using precise takedowns and environmental tricks. Combat focuses on timed attacks and avoiding detection rather than brute force. The story follows a rebellion against tyrannical warlords draining human suffering for power. Your choices influence how information is gathered and missions are completed. The game stands out for its crisp art style and deliberate stealth design. Triangle!'s signature clean visuals highlight the contrast between quiet investigation and sudden violence. Players who enjoy methodical planning over action-heavy combat will appreciate the emphasis on positioning and patience. With a 78% positive rating on Steam, many note the satisfying balance between exploration and execution. The Warring States setting feels fresh through its focus on female-led resistance, though the story pacing slows during dialogue-heavy sections.
In Japan's Warring States period, demons known as "warlords" run rampant, as they feed on the malice of humanity. The people cower in fear at the warlords' oppression, and impotently accept their subjugation. But there is one ray of light that strikes through the darkness. The only people with the strength to resist the warlords, are a special group of women, shrouded in secrecy. They are known only as: "Kunoichi" and they, too, are creatures of darkness.
