About

L.A. Machineguns: Rage of the Machines is a fast-paced arcade shooter where you control two agents racing across the West Coast on hoverbikes. Blast through hordes of robotic enemies in a race to stop the R.O.M. militia from overrunning major cities. The game emphasizes quick reflexes and strategic weapon switching as you navigate destructible environments and mid-air combat. Each level throws new mechanical threats at you from all angles requiring constant movement and precision shooting. Released in 1998 by Sega, this sequel to Gunblade NY leans into late '90s arcade energy with its neon-drenched visuals and chaotic action. While it lacks sequel fatigue with a self-contained story, its single-player focus and demanding difficulty made it a cult favorite among shooter purists. The game's blend of vehicular combat and close-quarters gunplay remains distinct in Sega's action catalog, though its dated graphics and limited replayability keep it niche. Still, fans of classic arcade thrills might find its relentless pace addictive.

Storyline

Set 20 years after the events of Gunblade NY and follows the efforts of two agents of the Special Independent Force Against Terrorism riding hoverbikes to defeat the titular Rage of the Machines, another robotic terrorist organization, across the western United States.
