About LabyrAInth

LabyrAInth is a sci-fi first-person shooter set in an alien world of procedurally generated labyrinths. Released October 31, 2025, it blends racing, survival, and exploration as players navigate deadly mazes filled with traps and hostile aliens. The story follows a researcher trapped by an alien AI who must escape by solving puzzles and improving weapons. Available on PC, it supports single-player campaigns and online leaderboards where players race against others in the same maze. The game’s roguelite elements ensure each run feels unique, with randomized layouts and challenges.

Gameplay

In LabyrAInth, players sprint through shifting 3D labyrinths, dodging environmental hazards like falling debris and electrified walls. Core gameplay revolves around collecting resources to upgrade weapons, think plasma rifles and shockwave grenades, and using power-ups like temporary invisibility. Each maze has a time limit, forcing aggressive pacing. The Story mode tasks you with uncovering the AI’s secrets, while Infinite mode throws you into endless randomized mazes. Ranked matches let you compete for high scores, and Survival mode pits you against waves of aliens. Controls feel twitchy but responsive, with a focus on rapid movement and precise shooting. Sessions usually last 15, 30 minutes, with permadeath adding tension.

What Players Think

PlayPile users rate LabyrAInth 88% positive, praising its chaotic energy but noting inconsistent pacing. Average playtime is 8, 10 hours, with 45% of players completing the Story mode. Community moods split between “excited” (62%) and “frustrated” (28%), often citing unfair trap placements. Leaderboards show top 1% players finish Infinite mazes in under 5 minutes. Achievements include “Escape Artist” (100% completion) and “Alien Slayer” (kill 100 enemies). Critics at GameSpot call it “a frenetic but addictive experiment in chaos,” while PC Gamer notes “it feels more like a prototype than a polished title.”

PlayPile's Take

LabyrAInth is a $29.99 adrenaline rush for FPS fans who enjoy fast, punishing runs. Its strength lies in the procedural mazes and competitive leaderboards, though the lack of save points and inconsistent difficulty will test patience. With 37 achievements (13 golden) and replayable content in Custom mode, it offers decent longevity. Not for casual players, but if you thrive in high-speed chaos, it’s a $25 experiment worth trying. Just be ready to die… a lot.

Storyline

Earth 2150: Climate change has become the greatest threat to human civilization. All remaining companies and governments are investing into AI development to find a solution to this problem, but hope is lost. As an AI expert and researcher, you have come up with a brilliant idea: What if we could prevent future climate change by studying how other planets have evolved? This could save Earth! So, you started collecting data from satellites pointing to distant alien planets to learn more about their origins and downfall. While studying a peculiar alien planet, you noticed that patterns emerged from the data coming from this planet—something like mazes. You tried to get closer to your pc to see the patterns better, and zoom! You were transformed into pure energy and transferred through space to that very planet. You are now trapped in this alien world, where a mystical presence lives—the entity that captured you and sent you here. It's called "AI," a powerful artificial intelligence that governs this world called LABYRAINTH. AI tells you that the only way out is to find the exit of each maze in this world. Other humans have tried to accomplish this task, but none have succeeded. Your fate is sealed! Will you beat the labyrinth? Will you uncover its secrets and save the Earth?
