Lagoon Lounge: The Poisonous Fountain is a narrative-driven simulator where you play as a furry recovering from burnout in a quiet coastal town. The story follows your daily life managing a restaurant with friends while investigating strange tremors dubbed "The Giant of Harasu." Dialogue choices and relationship building shape interactions, balanced with light minigames for tasks like serving customers. A central mystery revolves around a forbidden village fountain linked to the seismic activity. The game blends slice-of-life routines with supernatural intrigue, offering branching paths that mix mundane conflicts with eerie revelations. Its focus on LGBTQ+ themes and anthropomorphic characters has drawn a dedicated following in niche circles. With a 7.2/10 on niche visual novel forums, it stands out for its slow-burn atmosphere over action, though the 2018 release shows some dated presentation. Perfect for fans of contemplative stories where small-town quirks hide deeper secrets.
The protagonist is a furry who quit his job after a decline in his health due to overwork. Because of his exhaustion, his old friend takes him in at a seaside village to recover. In this village being flooded with curious tourists, the main character will work as a waiter at a restaurant alongside his friends. The main character also receives a warning from one of his friends soon after moving in. "Don't go anywhere near the fountain in the village's plaza." He will soon come find out what kind of threat it poses.
