Marie, a 13-year-old girl, searches for her missing sister in the autumn woods of 1988. Lake Ridden mixes exploration and puzzle-solving as you navigate a campsite turned eerie. Clues hidden in a decaying estate reveal a decades-old conflict fueled by envy and madness. Survive lurking shadows by finding shelter, solving environmental puzzles, and piecing together fragmented memories. The single-player story unfolds through atmospheric environments on PC, Xbox One, and Mac. The game’s strength lies in its tense atmosphere and layered narrative. Every creak and whisper feels deliberate, turning empty forests into oppressive spaces. Puzzles tie directly to character backstories, making each solution feel meaningful. While some jumps in logic may frustrate, the urgency of reuniting with your sister keeps momentum high. A small but dedicated community notes the game’s strong sense of place and emotional stakes, even if the 1988 setting occasionally clashes with modern gameplay mechanics.
