L'Albero Azzurro is a point-and-click FMV game designed for young children. Players interact with onscreen objects to trigger pre-recorded video segments featuring two presenters and Dodo, a cartoon character with a yellow beak and polka-dotted body. Each selection leads to a short activity song or story performed by the cast. The gameplay loops through these segments without progressing toward a defined goal. Built for preschoolers the game uses bright visuals and simple interactions to engage children aged 3 to 6. Its structure mirrors a TV episode with a repetitive but gentle rhythm. The Philips CD-i platform’s limitations mean the video quality is rough by modern standards but the charm of the characters and songs has kept it remembered by some. A relic of early 90s edutainment focused on pure playfulness over challenge.
