Lapis x Labyrinth sends you into a haunted forest where every tree might be made of gold. You play as one of eight specialists from mercenary to spellcaster each with unique gear and combat methods. Progress involves hacking through procedurally generated levels filled with traps and enemies. The twist is managing your party’s stamina and positioning as you navigate vertical spaces and timed challenges. The real hook is how the world shifts with each playthrough. Bosses are brutally tricky requiring precise timing and class-specific tactics. While the 2018 release date means it’s been around a while it still holds up with a 87 Metacritic score. The Switch port lets you tackle dungeons on the go though the punishing difficulty might leave you stuck more than once.
