Laser Zone is a fast paced shooter that drops you in the middle of pixelated chaos. You guide a ship through waves of enemies blasting away with multi directional fire. The game throws in power ups and shifting hazards to keep things unpredictable. It runs on a bunch of 8 bit systems from the early 80s including the C64 and Spectrum. The controls are tight and responsive making it a joy to play even by today’s standards. What sticks out is the game’s relentless energy and surprisingly deep scoring system. Players can team up for co op which adds a chaotic layer to the action. Despite its age Laser Zone still feels sharp and addictive.
