About

Léto s Oskarem is a point-and-click adventure set in a small Czech village where 14-year-old Oskar Sláma navigates family secrets and rural chaos. Developed by Illusion Softworks in 1998, the game follows Oskar as he reluctantly moves in with his grandparents to claim an inheritance, stumbling into slapstick mishaps and eccentric characters. The DOS-based gameplay emphasizes dialogue choices and inventory puzzles, blending schoolyard humor with quirky family dynamics. The game stands out for its deadpan Czech comedy and nostalgic charm, offering a snapshot of early 90s PC design. With minimal combat and a focus on absurd situations, like dodging mischievous cousins or outwitting a nosy neighbor, it appeals to fans of offbeat storytelling. Though its pixel-art visuals and clunky interface feel dated, the straightforward humor and small-town setting remain endearing. Rarely re-released, it’s a curiosity for retro adventurers willing to overlook technical hurdles.

Storyline

In this "typical Czech comedy" adventure, the player takes control of Oskar Sláma, who is so bad at school that his parents send him off to live with his grandparents in the rural village of Kotěhůlky. He reluctantly accepts in order to receive his inheritance.
