In Liquid Kids you control a rotund hippo named Hipopo as he treks through vibrant stages to recover his missing girlfriend. The gameplay centers on flinging sticky water spheres that spray enemies and activate switches when they collide with surfaces. Each level scrolls in all four directions revealing dense mazes with shifting walkways and sudden floor collapses. You rescue other trapped animals along the way collecting power-ups that let you stretch your water globes farther. The game borrows heavily from Bubble Bobble’s water mechanics but adds its own quirky spin with more complex level geometry. While not widely remembered today its tight controls and puzzle-like stages have earned retro enthusiasts a soft spot. With ports on Wii and classic systems it lives on as a niche but satisfying throwback to early ’90s arcade design.
