Little Ninja Brothers is a side-scrolling brawler with RPG elements that blends fast-paced combat and simple story quests. Players control Jack or Ryu, two ninjas fighting through waves of enemies in Chinaland while upgrading moves and health. The game alternates between exploration and beat-em-up battles, with a focus on timing jumps and special attacks. Co-op mode lets two players team up for split-screen chaos, a feature that feels surprisingly fresh for its time. Released in 1989 for the NES, it gained a cult following for its goofy charm and accessible gameplay. Though part of a niche series, its mix of hack-and-slash action and light story elements made it a standout title for early ninjutsu-fueled adventures. The game later returned on modern platforms like Wii U, letting newer audiences tackle Blu Boltar’s invasion. While not as well known as some 80s brawlers, it still holds up as a quick, colorful throwback.
