Little Princess is a 1987 text-based adventure game with minimal graphics that tasks you with rescuing a kidnapped love interest. You play as Kentarou, chasing Dracula across a surreal fantasy world after he abducts your girlfriend Miki. The gameplay revolves around typed commands navigating cryptic dialogue trees and environmental puzzles. Basic pixel art frames the story but the focus remains on the written narrative. This title connects to the broader Rance franchise through its characters but exists as a self-contained weirdness. The original Dracula antagonist was later changed to Demon King Gi in re-releases. With its MSX2 origins and primitive mechanics, it appeals to retro fans curious about early Japanese adventure games. A sequel called Little Vampire expanded the universe but stands alone mechanically. The game's cult status grows from its chaotic charm and role in adventure game history.
From the intro: "It was a bright and sunny Sunday morning. I was on a date with my girlfriend, Miki. But disaster suddenly struck out of nowhere. The skies turned a foul shade of black. And out of nowhere, clad in the darkest of shadow, Dracula appeared to steal Miki away from me. I desperately pursued that wicked Dracula. And before I knew it, I was in a different world. Miki, I'll definitely save you. Please wait for me." The game's story features the same Kentarou and Miki from the Rance titles, however Dracula would later be retconned and be replaced with Demon King Gi.
