Little Town Hero is an RPG that flips traditional formulas. You skip the grind of battling weak monsters and face bosses directly in strategic one-on-one encounters. Set in a locked-down village, the protagonist craves life beyond its borders until a mysterious monster shatters their routine. Using a strange red stone, they defend their home while uncovering secrets tied to the stones and creatures. The story unfolds in short, focused chapters ideal for players with limited time. The game shines with its emphasis on creative problem solving during fights. Each boss requires adapting tactics beyond standard attack patterns. Composed by Toby Fox of UNDERTALE fame, the music adds emotional weight to both battles and quiet moments. With a 78% critic score on Metacritic and praise for its clever design, it appeals to RPG fans seeking depth without lengthy side quests. The tight 15-hour runtime lets you savor the story without bloat.

Most of the villagers don't give it a thought, and happily go on with their everyday lives. However, the protagonist is a little different from the others - he wants to see the world outside. One day, a "Monster" appears in the village, shocking everyone because until then, no one knew such creatures existed. The protagonist is able to fight it using a mysterious Red stone he found in the coalmines. In the course of his defense of the village, he gradually unravels secrets of how the stones and the monsters came to be…
