About

Little Vampire is a 1988 visual novel adventure following Kurusu Miki and Ogawa Kentarou as they evade supernatural threats after escaping Dracula’s castle. Stranded in a desolate town, they scavenge for supplies while fending off monsters drawn to Miki’s mysterious reputation. Players navigate dialogue choices, explore hazardous locations like a cursed church, and manage dwindling resources to survive. The story balances survival tension with character-driven moments, as Kentarou grapples with Dracula’s cryptic final words and the pair’s uncertain path home. The game’s atmospheric tension and resource-based survival mechanics set it apart for its era. Its vague but ominous world design, ruined buildings, whispering creatures, and a lingering sense of decay, creates a haunting backdrop. Though lesser-known today, it’s a direct precursor to the Rance series, with its villain later reworked into that franchise. A cult curiosity among retro RPG fans, it offers a brisk, eerie narrative with minimal combat, focusing instead on choice and consequence.

Storyline

After Miki's kidnapping by the vampire king, Dracula, Kentarou has managed to rescue her. But Dracula died too easy, leaving Kentarou with peculiar dying words: "And now... I die in peace..." The two take refuge in a nearby town, determined to find a way back to their home world. Starved for food and money, they will have to find a way to survive and ultimately escape. Monsters patrol the area, whispering about a "Little Princess," and a ruined church tower looms in the distance, said to corrupt all comers. And Dracula's curse lingers...
