LiveTale is a co-op RPG where you and your friends build a world as you play it. There are no prewritten stories or dungeon masters here. Instead you use a toolbox of character creators relationship editors and event triggers to shape your adventure in real time. Your party could be negotiating trade routes or accidentally starting a war depending on how everyone’s choices collide. The game thrives on messy improvisation where every session feels like a group brainstorm that quickly spirals out of control. What makes LiveTale pop is its open-ended approach to storytelling. The tools let you tweak almost anything from character backstories to faction politics but there’s no safety net to keep things on track. Community playtests have shown sessions often end with unexpected twists like a beloved NPC turning traitor or a planned heist devolving into a slapstick chase. Unplay’s first title since 2021’s experimental TableTalker leans into the chaos with systems that reward collaboration over planning. Coming August 12 2025 it’s a gamble for players who love shaping stories together and don’t mind when the plot takes a left hook.
