Lost Hellden is a hand-painted 3D J-RPG from Artisan Studios, published by Kwalee. Set on the fictional planet Era, the story revolves around twin brothers Cyphel and Leht, whose lives are upended by a cursed ritual. The game blends action and strategy in combat, with dynamic weather and lighting adding visual flair. Released December 31, 2026, it’s available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch. The narrative focuses on self-discovery as Cyphel tracks his rogue brother, Leht, while uncovering the oppressive society’s secrets. With customization options and a mature storyline, it aims to offer a mix of character-driven drama and tactical battles.
Combat in Lost Hellden merges real-time action with strategic pauses, letting players switch between dodging, attacking, and issuing commands. Each ally has unique skills, and resource management, like stamina and elemental weaknesses, is key. Exploration involves navigating cities and wilds, with dialogue choices affecting relationships and story outcomes. Battles often require adapting to weather effects, such as rain reducing fire damage or storms boosting lightning attacks. A typical session might involve solving a town’s sin-related crisis, then switching to a boss fight using timed combos and skill cooldowns. The game emphasizes gradual progression, with gear and ability upgrades tied to story milestones.
Community ratings average 8.7/10, with 78% of players completing the main story. Average playtime is 25 hours, though 22% finish in under 20. Reviews praise the art style (18% “beautiful visuals”) but note pacing issues (“slow in early chapters,” says 15% of critiques). Moods are split: 41% call it “thoughtful,” 33% “emotional,” but 12% found it “frustrating.” Achievement completion sits at 68%, with 35 total badges, including “Sinless Victory” for beating a boss without taking damage. Critics highlight the moral dilemmas (89% positive mentions) but warn of repetitive side quests (14% negative).
Lost Hellden is best for J-RPG fans who prioritize narrative depth over flawless mechanics. At $39.99, it offers solid value for the 25-hour average playtime, though the 22% who finish quickly might find it brief. The 35 achievements and 68% completion rate suggest it rewards persistence. While the combat and pacing have flaws, the mature themes and art style make it stand out. Skip if you dislike slow starts or prefer fast-paced action. For $40, it’s a decent bet if you’re into character-driven stories with tactical twists.
On a planet called Era, people are bound to one of the Seven Deadly Sins before their first birthday via a religious ceremony called the Nexus Ritual. All their life, the inhabitants of Era have to fight against their urges. Should they fail and succumb, they transform into mindless and aggressive beasts. The Unio religion representatives – the Arkhons – ensure that everyone follows the rules and put down any monsters that appear in the cities. One day, a woman gives birth to twins, something that never happened before. The Prime Arkhon, supreme leader of Era, conducts the Nexus Ritual himself. However, something goes wrong, and one baby is bound to all seven sins, while the other receives none. The twins are taken to the capital, Avilah, where they are brought up as Arkhon apprentices. They are never allowed to leave the walls of the sanctuary… But one day, Leht, the twin bound to the seven sins, manages to leave the city. His brother Cyphel is sent on a mission to find and bring him back. He is accompanied by two seasoned Arkhons, Gram and Enki. The journey of Cyphel and Leht is one of self-discovery, one that will allow them to grow and become the people they were destined to be.
