Luminesweeper mashes together two puzzle staples into one handheld package. One half tasks you with aligning colored blocks to clear lines before they stack too high. The other half has you flagging hidden mines on a grid through logic and luck. Both modes share the same simple control scheme and retro pixel art. A built in level editor lets you tweak visuals for either game. The skin compiler stands out as a surprisingly deep customization feature for 2005. While the Game Boy Advance version lacks online features, the single player focus means you can jump into either mode anytime. A small but dedicated player base still shares community made themes online. The straightforward design makes it easy to pick up but harder to put down.
