Mad Mix 2: El Castillo de los Fantasmas is a sequel that ups the ante from its predecessor with maze-running action and spooky new twists. You play as Mad Mix, navigating grid-based levels filled with enemies, collecting power pellets to turn the tide. The goal remains simple: outsmart ghosts while gobbling dots, but the setting shifts to a haunted castle where the stakes feel higher. New obstacles and layouts keep the formula fresh, though the core mechanics stick to classic arcade pacing. Released in 1990 for DOS and budget-friendly systems like the ZX Spectrum, it leans into retro charm with chunky pixel art and quirky character designs. While community data is sparse, long-time fans often cite its tighter level design compared to the first game. The challenge curve ramps up quickly, testing reflexes and route-planning skills. With single-player focus and no frills, it’s a straightforward but addictive pick for those who miss the era when simplicity ruled arcade cabinets.
Peace had finally come to "CocoVillage" thanks to the work done by Mad Mix, who had become a worthy successor to his grandfather. But the nightmare was not over yet because a few miles from there, in the town of his cousin Ope "CocoCastle", a place crowned by a fantasy castle, strange phenomena were happening. All the beginnings led to think that a "coconut" surviving "Cocovillage" had made the castle his home, also establishing a malefic alliance with the sinister inhabitants of that place.
