Mad Rider is a 1987 racing game where you pilot a red sports car through six distinct tracks. Choose from Megacity, Plateau, Alps, Island, Egyptian, or Canyon and navigate obstacles while avoiding collisions. Hitting objects usually causes explosions, but water, oil, and motorcyclists only make you spin out. The goal is to beat the clock rather than compete against other drivers. Handling is sluggish and the visuals lack polish even by MSX2 standards, which was a common budget system at the time. The game’s dated feel is hard to ignore but the straightforward challenge might appeal to retro fans. With no online scores or multiplayer, your only competition is the timer. Community feedback often points to the awkward controls and basic graphics as major drawbacks. Still the obstacle variety and track designs hint at early attempts to mix environmental hazards with time-based racing. Not recommended for modern expectations but a curiosity for MSX2 enthusiasts.
