"Server issues at launch aside, and with the loss of cross-play noted, Madden 26 is a very solid port of one of the best outings for this franchise in recent memory. Yes, you'll need to get used to a drop in the frame rate to 40fps on Switch 2, but it's a reasonable downgrade in order to get this type of game running as well as it does on a portable machine. It really is a very close match in all other ways to other consoles. For newcomers, this is one of the best Madden games I've played in terms of teaching you the ropes, and for the returning hardcore, the improvements on the pitch, and with regards to presentation, should impress where its predecessor felt a bit lacking."

Madden NFL 26 lands on PC and next-gen consoles as a full simulation of American football. You control every play from offense to defense while managing rosters in franchise mode or jumping straight into online matches. The game supports split screen co-op so you can run plays with a friend on the same couch without needing an internet connection. EA Orlando has focused on making the physics feel real and the player animations fluid across all platforms including the new Switch 2. Critics seem to agree this is the strongest entry in years since the Sega era. Impulsegamer called it the best Madden ever while CGMagazine praised its completeness. OpenCritic shows a 79 out of 100 score with about two thirds of reviewers giving it a strong recommendation. The IGDB rating sits at 80.6 based on five user reviews which suggests early players are happy with the final product. If you want accurate stats and deep management options this title delivers them without fluff.
