Madness Regent is a fast paced shooter that crams chaotic combat into a browser tab. You take control of a soldier caught in a loop of death and rebirth fighting through waves of enemies in a retro style arena. Each run resets when you die forcing you to adapt strategies and memorize enemy patterns. The controls are straightforward but the difficulty spikes quickly with boss battles and shifting level layouts keeping things unpredictable. Tom Fulp’s fingerprints are all over the mayhem blending frantic gunplay with simple but satisfying mechanics. Players appreciate the short sharp sessions that hide deep skill curves with some runs lasting minutes others stretching into hours. While lacking polish by modern standards its addictive loop and Newgrounds era charm earned it a loyal following. Over 15 years since release it still draws clicks for its no nonsense action and relentless pace.
