Magic Carpet tasks you with steering a supernatural flying rug through wave after wave of airborne threats. You blast through alien ships and dodging projectiles while gathering power-ups to boost your score. The Controls feel a bit twitchy by modern standards but the relentless action keeps things brisk. Released in late 1984 it arrived on Commodore and Spectrum systems during the golden age of arcade conversions. Developed by Mattel Electronics France this title originated as an Intellivision port that never quite hit its mark. Its charm lies in the goofy concept and the historical oddity of a toy company making a shooter. While not a standout in gameplay today its pixelated simplicity appeals to some retro gaming circles. A niche relic more for collectors than casual players.
