"Wilds of Eldraine is a fantastic set, both for veterans and new players. The main set is fun to draft while being friendly to new players. The mechanics offer gameplay that keeps the set dynamic and lively. Matches of Wilds of Eldraine were always moving forward without becoming a slow stalemate. The "enchanting tales" offer bonus value to players while also supporting the flavor and mechanics of the main set. In contrast, the commander decks offer decent value to players looking for an entry point into commander, but aren't anything special from previous commander offerings."

About

Magic: The Gathering Battlemage is a 1997 real time strategy game that adapts the fantasy card game’s universe into a competitive arena. Set on the continent of Corondor, players control mages battling in real time to dominate territory and resources while countering opponents’ spells and tactics. The game offers single player campaigns and head-to-head multiplayer matches. Building bases, managing spells, and adapting strategies on the fly define the core gameplay loop. The game faced criticism for aggressive AI behavior, a steep learning curve, and interface quirks that frustrated players. Legal disputes also marked its release, with Spectrum Holobyte suing Acclaim over conflicting platform release terms. Though short-lived, Battlemage remains a niche artifact of early ’90s Magic adaptations. Its rights were bought by Liquid Media Group in 2018, but no modern revival plans exist.
