Magna Carta: Tears of Blood is a PlayStation 2 RPG with turn-based combat that adds real-time action. Players alternate between planning moves and mashing buttons to execute attacks. Build energy for stronger hits and use elemental Carta techniques to change the fight. The story follows Calintz, a hero returning home to find it destroyed. His revenge quest drags him into a larger war between humans and Yasons. The game's standout is its hybrid combat, mixing strategy with timing challenges. The world of Efferia features five races in conflict, giving depth to the setting. Calintz's personal mission grows into a political struggle, blending personal stakes with grand conflicts. Developed by Softmax and released in 2004, it remains a niche title with a unique approach to RPG battles.
The land of Efferia is a huge continent, where five different races co-exist - alas, not always peacefully. At present, humans and a race called Yasons are having a prolonged conflict. The hero of the game, a young adventurer named Calintz, comes back to his hometown, only to discover that it was destroyed by enemies. Thinking only about revenge, Calintz embarks on a journey that will eventually force him to get involved in the world of conflicts, wars, and intrigues.
