You direct your crew through tasks like fixing hull damage steering the vessel preparing for combat and organizing boarding parties. Each decision affects how your ship performs in missions. Playing as different ranks alters mission approaches and outcomes. The game gives you a first-person view of your ship’s interior letting you move through corridors and check status updates while managing resources and tactics in real time. The game includes two main campaigns set in historical naval conflicts. One follows British forces in the Channel during the 1400s while the other casts you as an American naval hero. Twenty shorter missions add variety. Multiplayer lets you compete directly with friends in captain-versus-captain battles. A scenario editor adds longevity for custom challenges. Released in 1999 it blends ship management and combat with a focus on crew coordination over pure action.
