Manic Karts is a DOS kart racing game that builds on its predecessor with sharper visuals and more options. Players choose from four kart classes ranging from 50cc to 250cc and battle through tracks using power-ups and maneuvering. The single-player mode focuses on overtaking opponents and maintaining lead through a mix of speed and strategy. Controls are straightforward with a focus on quick reflexes and timing. The game stands out for its SVGA graphics which were a rarity in 1995 racing titles. With 16 new tracks and upgraded sound effects it offers a polished follow-up to the original. While the gameplay loops are familiar the addition of varied kart specs and power-up mechanics adds depth. A modest but solid entry in the kart racing genre from the mid 90s.
