Storyline

The ocean world of Ixt’thus holds the key to galactic domination. Scattered across its ocean floor lie thousands of rifts – sources of limitless energy and portals to the hyperspatial void beyond our universe. Whoever controls the rifts controls all FTL travel in the galaxy. For four hundred years, the brutal X'taran Empire has ruled with an iron fist, controlling all trade routes and interstellar navigation. Now a small group of rebels has managed to sneak past X'taran blockades and deliver a prototype Gateship and a small fighter craft, the Manta, to Ixt'thus. Using the Gateship, they can harness the rifts to bring reinforcements through hyperspace directly to the surface, evading the X'taran forces guarding the planet. Battle over and under the oceans as you pilot the Manta: a combination fighter and submarine.
