Marbella Vice is a 1994 light gun shooter that swaps Miami’s beaches for Spain’s Costa del Sol. Players join a bumbling cop team, one human, one animated sidekick, on a mission to dismantle a drug ring. The gameplay is all about rapid trigger pulling, as henchmen pop up on screen in chaotic Full Motion Video sequences. Accuracy matters: miss a target or hit an innocent bystander and you’ll slow your progress. The single-player mode is straightforward, but co-op lets two players tag-team the action, making it a fun arcade challenge for competitive friends. Directed by cult filmmaker Álex de la Iglesia, the game leans into slapstick absurdity with over-the-top acting and a script packed with deadpan humor. Its cast includes regular collaborators like Santiago Segura, giving it a distinctly Spanish flavor. While the FMOV style dates the visuals, the frantic gameplay and quirky charm have kept it a niche favorite among retro arcade fans. The game’s blend of goofy storytelling and simple shooting mechanics makes it a strange but addictive time capsule of ’90s arcade culture.
