Mario Is Missing! casts Luigi in the lead role as he scours a stylized world city for artifacts stolen by Bowser’s Koopas. Played as a point-and-click adventure on PC, you navigate side-scrolling streets, leap onto enemies to retrieve loot, then deliver items to their proper locations. Each drop-off triggers two trivia questions about the landmark’s history or design. Success unlocks progress while failure sends you back to the drawing board. The gameplay balances platforming action with problem-solving, blending Mario-style mechanics with educational content. The game stands out as one of the earliest Luigi-led titles and a rare Mario entry with a classroom-friendly edge. Its mix of pop culture and real-world trivia hasn’t aged perfectly but adds a quirky charm. With DOS and Mac versions offering smoother puzzle pacing than the more frantic console adaptations, it appeals to fans of 90s adventure games seeking a lighter, family-oriented challenge. The oddball plot about Bowser melting Antarctica with hairdryers remains a highlight, 荒谬 yet oddly endearing.
Bowser, king of the Koopas, has relocated from the Mushroom Kingdom to the real world, where he has set up his headquarters in an Antarctican castle. He plans to steal the Earth's treasures with the use of the Passcode-Operated Remote Transportation and Larceny System, which allows his Koopas to teleport anywhere in the world. His main objective is to sell the treasures to pay for enough hairdryers so he can melt the ice of Antarctica. In order to do so, Bowser captures Mario to prevent him from foiling the plan, and it is up to Mario's brother Luigi to save him.
