Mario Party DS casts you and up to three friends as tiny Mario and crew battling Bowser’s latest scheme. Shrunken to miniature size, players scavenge for coins and stars while avoiding hazards like Piranha Plants in large locations. Each of five worlds ends with a boss fight, blending puzzle solving, turn-based battles, and environmental exploration. The game mixes co-op and competitive play as teams race to collect scattered items and outsmart Bowser’s traps. Launched in 2007 for DS and later ported to Wii U, the game emphasizes local multiplayer chaos with its card-based mini-games and shared objectives. Its mix of strategy and slapstick action kept it a staple for family gatherings, with over 10 million units sold across platforms. The co-op focus and bite-sized levels make it easy to pick up but tough to stop playing.
One night, five mysterious Sky Crystals fall to Earth. Mario discovers one and eagerly shows it to his friends. Suddenly, a surprise invitation arrives from Bowser: “Hey, chumps! I'm throwing a Big Bowser Bash to apologize for being such a jerk!” Naturally, everyone is suspicious, but the promise of free food is too tempting to resist. They head to Bowser’s Castle, hoping for a party, but it's a trap. Bowser steals the Sky Crystal and uses a new device called the Minimizer to shrink everyone down to tiny size. With four Sky Crystals still missing, Bowser launches the mini-sized heroes to the far edge of the kingdom to keep them out of his way. Their adventure begins, small in size and facing a world full of giant challenges.
