Mario Teaches Typing 2 is a typing tutor sequel that turns keyboard drills into a lighthearted quest. You follow Mario as he hunts for fragments of a magical typewriter, using lessons that include color-coded keys, an on-screen reference, and adjustable difficulty. The game tracks progress with certificates and lets you tweak lesson plans, while Mario’s animated face offers quips and distractions between exercises. Gameplay mixes repetitive typing challenges with brief platformer moments, keeping the tone playful but straightforward. The game stands out for its mix of educational focus and Mario’s cheeky personality. While not as ambitious as later entries in the series, it remains a nostalgic pick for those who remember 90s edutainment. Its cultural references and Mario’s running jokes add charm to otherwise routine practice sessions. With no multiplayer or long-term updates, it’s a niche title but a curious artifact of early interactive learning.
Mario and Luigi were walking by Bowser's Castle one day when they come across the Magical Typewriter floating in the air. Curious, Mario attempts to type on it. However, he proves to be a terrible typist. Before Mario can go on any further, the Magical Typewriter explodes. In place of the typewriter is a scroll, which is also floating in the air. Mario takes the typewriter and sees a picture of three pieces of the Magical Typewriter. Mario and Luigi decide to recover all of the pieces and improve Mario's typing skills.
