Martha casts you as Isabelle Hewitt a reporter hunting for a vanished colleague in a decaying Midwestern mansion. It’s 1996 and the Albrecht Estate sits empty save for strange noises and a persistent sense of dread. You’ll move through crumbling hallways balancing exploration with sudden bursts of gunplay as the house resists your presence. Puzzle elements mix with combat as you search for clues about Jack Meyer’s disappearance while fending off whatever lurks in the shadows. The environment itself feels reactive with shifting layouts and hidden passages that keep you guessing. The game’s tight pacing and oppressive atmosphere have earned it a 78% on Metacritic with many praising its blend of resource management and first-person shooting. Players note the house’s design as a standout feature with narrow corridors and flickering lights that amplify tension. While combat stays simple the real challenge comes from navigating the estate’s disorienting layout. A 30 to 45 minute experience it’s often described as a short but effective horror thriller.
1st of May 1996. You are Isabelle Hewitt, a determined freelance reporter with a penchant for getting sh*t done and taking matters into your own hands. Your close work colleague, Jack Meyer, is missing and you have not heard from him in nearly two weeks. Having worked with him for over a decade, you know this is very much out of character. Jack was in the regional outskirts of Annadeer to investigate a family who went missing from the Albrecht Estate, which is rumored to be struck by a family curse. The house has been left abandoned and now Jack is nowhere to be seen. Why so many missing people in the local area, you wonder. The local police are reluctant to investigate, so now it’s up to you.
