About

You play as the stitched-together monster in this 1994 adventure-platformer, chasing Victor Frankenstein through medieval Europe. The goal is clear: smash everything in your path using a flammable stick and a risky blue-energy attack that drains your health. Each level mixes basic platforming with combat against villagers and soldiers who see you as a demon. Puzzles involve finding switches or dodging traps, all while managing limited resources like fire torches to keep your stick weaponized. The story follows the movie’s twisted beats, including a memorable boss fight against a reanimated Elizabeth. The game’s charm lies in its over-the-top violence and low-poly charm, though the difficulty spikes often feel unfair. Running on 1994 tech, it shows its age with blocky graphics and stiff controls, but the creative weapon mechanics stand out. It released alongside the film on SNES and Genesis, with the latter version scoring 72% on aggregated reviews. Players who don’t mind its quirks might enjoy the satisfying crunch of splattering enemies with flaming sticks, even if the puzzles feel simpler than the monster’s rage.

Storyline

The player controls Frankenstein's monster as he stomps through the streets of Ingolstadt, Bavaria, in the year 1793 seeking revenge against a certain man named Victor for rejecting him once he was created.[3] Since he is a product of artificial manufacturing, he is condemned and declared a monster by peasants and soldiers. The common folks that strive to kill Frankenstein's monster are highly ignorant about modern science and believe that he is truly a demon. The game follows the plot of the movie closely with some alterations or padding, most notably the removal of Elizabeth's death scene yet her resurrection as an abomination is kept and she is fought as a boss that dies after being accidentally set on fire.
