"While we were desperate to love Air Twister, it feels like an undernourished Space Harrier homage full of missed opportunity. For Sega fans who want little more than a Space Harrier experience in new clothes, there's little to complain about… except maybe that soundtrack. But, while the extra modes expand the game's longevity and encourage a clear, they feel tacked on. It's fine to go back to for a quick blast now and then, but sit with it for a day or two and its lack of inspiration starts to gnaw. The arcade hardcore are most likely to reap the greatest rewards, but even then there may be a nagging feeling of uncapitalised promise."

Matrix Brain Twister is a logic puzzle game that challenges you to manipulate color grids. Each level presents a grid of colored blocks. Clicking one changes its color and those directly adjacent horizontally or vertically. The goal is to turn every block the same color while avoiding a specific "forbidden" hue. Progress through increasingly layered grids that demand careful planning and pattern recognition. The rules are straightforward but the solutions often require working backward from the end state. The game’s strength lies in its deceptive simplicity. Early puzzles feel accessible but quickly introduce constraints that force creative thinking. Without rotations or flashy visuals, the focus stays purely on problem-solving. Community feedback highlights how even small grids can stump players for hours. The lack of time pressure or penalties makes it a calm yet mentally taxing experience. Its minimal design and deep challenge appeal to those who enjoy methodical brain teasers over action-driven gameplay.
