About

You’re racing through a gleaming corporate skyscraper as an investigative reporter hunting for your digitized self. Max Headroom, your glitchy alter ego, is trapped somewhere in the top 11 floors of Network 23’s tower. Each level is a maze of walls and furniture viewed in isometric top-down style. Robots chase you while you navigate by entering security codes to unlock doors and call elevators. Your health drops with each hit, and time counts down. The screen splits between controlling movement and hacking systems, with a biomonitor tracking your status. Codes require timing: move a pointer across LED circuits to light segments before they fade. Fail and you restart the floor from a backup elevator. The game’s standout feature is its tense code-breaking mechanic, which forces quick reflexes and pattern recognition. The split-screen interface divides attention between physical traversal and digital hacking, a design ahead of its time in 1986. While the cyberpunk setting feels more retro than modern, the puzzle-action hybrid has become a cult favorite among retro gaming circles. Its blend of platforming and logic challenges remains niche but memorable.
