"Maze tries to be an atmospheric and relaxing experience, but what little atmosphere it may have been able to achieve is marred by its plethora of design flaws and bare-bones gameplay. Many of the details found within served to actively detract from my enjoyment of this title. I can’t in good conscience recommend it to even the most casual of switch owners, especially not at its seven dollar price-point."

Maze throws you into fast paced shooter action set inside shifting geometric environments. You navigate randomized halls while firing at waves of enemies that appear and disappear with the beat. The controls are simple but the challenge ramps quickly as patterns reset and obstacles rearrange. Synth driven soundtrack pulses through each encounter adding to the frantic energy. Short play sessions keep things fresh though some find the lack of progression repetitive. The trippy visuals and rhythm based combat create a distinct vibe that stands out in the bullet hell genre. Windows users looking for a quick intense experience might give this one a spin.
