McFarlane's Evil Prophecy casts you as one of three adventurers battling supernatural threats in a gothic 19th-century world. Choose between a swashbuckling pirate, a sharpshooting gunslinger, or a magic-wielding warrior to tackle hordes of iconic monsters. The gameplay mixes third-person action with轻度 strategy elements as you navigate crumbling castles and eerie forests. Each character has distinct moves and weapons but the core loop revolves around dodging attacks and landing big hits on foes like Dracula and Frankenstein. The game stands out for its chaotic monster encounters and over-the-top character designs. While not widely remembered today, it packed a varied roster of classic creatures and let players switch between heroes mid-battle. Its campy tone and pulp-horror aesthetic created a niche experience that fans of 2000s action games might appreciate. The PS2 port held up decently for its time but didn't leave much of a lasting mark beyond curiosity value.
