About

Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special is a 1995 RPG from Atlus on the Sega Game Gear. It's the only game in the series to use 3D dungeon exploration. Players lead Matel and his team through four underground labyrinths to rescue Jerusalem from the demon king Graias. Turn-based battles and party management come alongside early 3D dungeons. Aside from a few mechanics and spell names, it shares little with other Megami Tensei entries. The 3D dungeon design was advanced for its time, especially on a handheld. It diverges from the series' typical formula, offering a gameplay experience different from other titles. Though not widely recognized, it's a niche title that highlights Atlus experimenting with new mechanics. The Game Gear version remains the only one to feature this approach, making it a curiosity for series fans and retro RPG enthusiasts.
