You play a mercenary in a war-torn Venezuela where chaos is your paycheck. Take on clients offering high paying but questionable jobs, sabotage oil pipelines, smuggle weapons, or blow up enemy strongholds. The game lets you use or steal everything from cars and tanks to shoulder mounted rocket launchers. Missions unfold in a reactive world where alliances shift and enemies hunt you. Upgrade gear with cash earned from completed contracts or grab supplies from downed opponents. The single player campaign focuses on flexibility over rigid objectives while the co op mode adds a partner for shared mayhem. What sets it apart is the freedom to approach missions creatively though the 2008 release shows its age in graphics and AI. The open world feels large but repetitive and the story lacks depth. Still fans of customizable combat and chaotic missions might enjoy it. Available on PS3 PC and Xbox 360 with a PS2 version that plays differently. No online leaderboards or modern updates but the base game holds up for short bursts of explosive gameplay.
