You take control of a giant robot's gunner in Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge, a light gun shooter that pits you against towering mechanical foes. Using the Super Scope, you aim and fire at specific parts of enemy robots while the game handles movement and screen scrolling. Each machine has a vulnerable spot that lets you rack up bigger damage, and you can stock up on special weapons like Neutron Beams and Plasma Bombs between stages to turn the tide in combat. The story expands on the Battle Game universe, introducing alien invaders and a more personal mission for hero Mike Anderson. While the gameplay mirrors its predecessor, the added co-op mode and longer campaign keep things fresh. Though it hasn't aged as well graphically, fans of classic light gun action still praise its tight mechanics and replayability.
Three years have passed since Anubis suffered defeat at the hand of Mike Anderson. A new age of prosperity has begun to emerge and along with it, the rebirth of some of earth's great cities. But just as quickly as he disappeared following his defeat, Anubis has reappeared to resume his tyranny. Again the player must join Mike and attempt to crush the iron rule of Anubis before he can once more throw the earth back into the darkest of ages. Afterwards, Anubis reveals that he is only a small portion of a much larger threat. A race of aliens called the Eltorians have come to conquer Earth, and the Solar System must be defended from their advancing forces. Near the end of the plot an enormous spaceship called "Eltoria" emerges where Mike must go to battle Anubis.
