Metal Torrent is a fast paced top down shooter that puts you in control of a lone fighter jet battling waves of enemies. You spend most of the game strafing left and right while firing lasers and dodging attacks in a vertical scrolling format. Power ups let you upgrade weapons or unleash chain combos that clear the screen. Each run ends when your ship explodes but the real goal is climbing the leaderboards with increasingly higher scores. The game has 8 distinct stages that ramp up the intensity with tighter corridors and tougher bosses. Community reviews highlight its tight controls and surprisingly deep scoring system that keeps matches short but addictive.
