Meteor Storm is a fast paced shooter where you defend a base from waves of falling meteors. Move left or right to blast threats with a laser or dodge them as they descend. Each round escalates in speed after you survive a hit while the panic button offers a temporary clear at the cost of points. Three difficulty settings adjust how aggressively the meteors descend before the fifth wave starts. The game’s stripped down mechanics highlight sharp reflex challenges typical of 1980s arcade ports. Despite the ZX81’s limited graphics the frantic rhythm and risk reward balance of the panic button keep it engaging. Players aiming to max their score must master when to conserve that emergency tool across increasingly chaotic waves.
