Methods The Canada Files is a point-and-click mystery game where you play a detective competing in a high-stakes contest to solve six intricate cases. As Larika Downs you gather clues interrogate suspects and piece together convoluted puzzles set across Canadian locations. Each case takes 2-4 hours with new challenges unlocking as you progress. The story unfolds through dialogue choices and deduction though there's no branching narrative, just a linear path to uncovering each file's truth. The game stands out for its tightly designed puzzles which mix environmental exploration with logic-based challenges. Set three years before the main Methods series it functions as a standalone entry with no prior knowledge needed. While the fixed price increase mechanic for each new file is a quirky incentive the real draw is the blend of visual novel storytelling and methodical detective work. Released in 2023 it runs on PC Linux and Mac with a single-player format focused on solo sleuthing.
