"Developing a work from intentional, inherent limitations is a beautiful creative experiment, especially when the result is as efficient and fun as Micro Mages. The 2D platform's simplicity can be too simplified for people wishing for something more elaborate, but the agility, retro challenge and four-player fun can be enough to attract people who like what they see."

Micro Hexagon is a stripped down action challenge that puts players in control of a tiny shape dodging through a rapidly closing hexagonal maze. The goal is simple survive as long as possible while avoiding walls that pulse and contract in tight patterns. The Commodore 64 version emphasizes speed and precision with its pixel perfect controls and relentless difficulty curve. Created for the RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Game Competition this title earned second place in 2013. The chiptune soundtrack by Mikkel Hastrup adds sharp rhythmic energy to the frantic gameplay. With no frills or extras just pure reflex testing action it showcases what minimalist design can achieve on vintage hardware. The 16KB file size limitation makes its polished feel even more impressive.
