Midnight Magic turns your joystick into a pinball wizard's toolkit. Tilt, flip, and launch the ball across a digital playfield as you chase high scores. Move the stick left or right to spin flippers, push down to pull back the plunger, and fire the button to send the ball flying. The goal is to knock down drop targets for escalating bonus multipliers while avoiding dead ends. Precision matters, hit those rollover corners with the multiplier active and you'll rack up extra balls fast. Released in 1981, this early pinball sim ran on everything from Atari 2600 to PC-9800, making it one of the most widely available arcade conversions of its time. Despite its age, it holds up as a surprisingly responsive challenge with a cult following. Retro players praise its tight controls and escalating difficulty, though modern pinball fans might find the simple table design limiting. Still, it’s proof of how far joystick physics came in the early 80s, and how tricky it is to keep that ball in play.
