Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie is a side-scrolling brawler built for two-player co-op chaos. Take control of your favorite Rangers as you punch, kick, and summon Zords through six levels blending events from the 1995 film and Season 2 of the show. Fight hordes of Putty Patrol and Oozemen while navigating stages that alternate between movie scenes and TV episodes. Team up to unleash mecha-sized attacks with the Falcon Zord or Ninja Megazord, and watch for digitized cutscenes snatched directly from the source material. The game leans into its era with pixel-heavy action and a soundtrack that rocks out TV theme covers. What sticks is the mix of nostalgia and quirks. Nine Rangers are playable including Tommy and Jason, though early actors’ voices get swapped for new ones due to contractual hiccups. Villains like Lord Zedd and renamed Sentinels (think Sentinel Neck and Ring) keep the threat fresh. The final boss battles against Ecto-Morphicons and Sentinels require specific Zord combos, adding strategy to the brawling. Released in 1995 for Sega Genesis, it’s a product of its time, rough around the edges but packed with 90s Power Rangers energy. Bulk and Skull even pop up for a cheeky cameo at the end.
