Command the Allied forces in a lunar war against the Axis Empire in Military Madness, a 1989 turn-based strategy game. Set in 2089, you battle for control of the moon’s resources after the Axis Powers seize most of its surface. Play unfolds on a top-down map where you move units and manage bases between turns. When enemies attack, the view zooms in for direct combat, blending base-building with real-time skirmishes. Single-player campaigns and multiplayer modes let you test tactics against AI or human opponents. The game’s mix of resource management and tactical depth stands out, with each decision impacting your ability to counter the Axis’ Supreme Atomic Missile. Though originally released on older systems like the PC-9800 and TurboGrafx-16, modern ports on Android and Wii keep it accessible. Its cult following praises the strategic complexity, though dated visuals might not appeal to all. Players who enjoy thoughtful turn-based gameplay often compare it favorably to later titles in the genre.
Space on Earth has become limited, and mankind has looked to colonize the moon. A group known as the Axis Powers has seized control over most of the lunar surface, and it's up to you as a member of the Allied Powers to fight against them. As you move around the map (shown in a top-down 2D perspective), enemy combatants will try and stop you from achieving your goal. Once encountered, the screen shifts view points to a close-up view of the skirmish at hand.
