Mine Storm is a fast paced shooter where you battle waves of floating mines in a single screen arena. An enemy ship drops hazards from the top of the screen while your ship starts in the center with five lives. You eliminate mines either by shooting them or ramming them directly which risks losing a life. Four distinct mine types add variety to the wave based combat. Simple controls let you focus on dodging and clearing each field before advancing. The game's straightforward challenge and frantic pace have kept it memorable decades after release. Playing on the Vectrex's vector display gives it a sharp distinct look that pixel based games can't match. Competing in multiplayer adds tension as both players race to clear the same minefield.
