Mines of Minos casts you as a lone robot scavenging spare parts in a maze beneath a hostile mining complex. You dodge enemy patrols to collect components, dragging them to safe zones while managing limited grenades. Each kill buys time but foes reset elsewhere, forcing you to balance risk and resourcefulness. The fifth level demands a tactical push against three stationary targets you can’t afford to miss, every hit sacrifices one of your rebuilt allies. The two-player mode flips control mid-fight, letting one player play the hunted robot and the other the hunter, with roles swapping on contact if the second player triggers a timed switch. Despite its 1982 Atari 2600 origins, the game’s core loop of evasion, collection, and calculated offense holds up as a tight test of persistence. Simple mechanics mask a steep difficulty curve that rewards precise timing over brute force.
