Miniature Garden is a mystery visual novel set in a secluded school where five students become stranded during a festival plagued by ominous rumors. You follow Yasunari as he navigates shifting alliances and cryptic clues to uncover the truth behind the school's dark history. The story unfolds through dialogue choices and exploration, with multiple endings tying back to the festival's eerie legacy. Developer Muzintou crafts a tense atmosphere with minimalist art and tight writing. The game stands out for its layered narrative and the way small decisions ripple into drastically different outcomes. Art by Korie Riko lends a distinct visual style that feels both delicate and unsettling. While short by modern standards, its branching paths encourage replayability. Released in 2015, it remains a quiet gem for players who enjoy cerebral mysteries with a touch of psychological intrigue.
"In the woods not far from the city lies a school called the 'Miniature Garden.' In keeping with the school's name, an original 'Miniature Festival' is held there every three years. There’s a rumor that an unnatural death will befall someone on the night of the festival. This year, as the sun sets, Yasunari and four other students find themselves trapped alone in the school on the night of the festival. Is it just a mistake, or could the rumors be true?"
